How can I help my managers improve their competencies and performance?

One of the most critical responsibilities a supervisor has is to sit down with their sales managers and discuss how they can improve their competencies and performance. A competency improvement conversation can be very difficult for a supervisor because it must be personal and targeted to the individual manager.

The Professional Sales Manager Development Report (PSMDR) is a tool designed to help the supervisor and the manager have a meaningful discussion on the individual's strengths, weaknesses and subsequent action plan needed to improve their competencies. The tool compares the manager with the best managers in financial services and makes suggestions based on the analysis that is performed.

Why is our manager's development testing beneficial?

Our manager's development report is one of many products QFS has that helps the supervisor manage better. The report gives individual managers detailed analysis on how their competencies compare against the top managers in financial services. In addition to competency analysis, the report provides specific development suggestions that are customized to the individual manager as well as a framework for setting goals and creating a development action plan.

The best use of the report is for the manager to review the analysis and sit down with their supervisor and discuss the results.

Why is our manager's development report the most effective?

There are a lot of companies out there offering development testing but no other firm delivers results like we can. Here are a few of the reasons our Professional Sales Manager Development Report (PSMDR) beats out the competition. The report helps in three ways:

  1. It saves time and money by comparing the manager to the best sales managers in financial services. The report provides managers with objective feedback on how they can improve themselves and their results. We have found that it is especially helpful for individuals that may be experiencing difficulties in their position or are new to managing.
  2. Because the assessment is customized to financial services, the individual is given a tool that reflects the attributes required for sales management success. This tool is in a class by itself because of the extensive research behind it.
  3. It is a self-contained report that provides individual managers with all the information they need to improve their competencies including customized action plans. Suggested actions might include on-the-job activities; recommended books or audiotapes; and seminars to attend.

How does our manager's development testing work?

The manager's development report is web-based so there is no paperwork involved. When a company purchases the tests, two personalized web sites are created: one for the individual to complete the questionnaire and one for the company to pull the report. The individual receives log-in information and can access the site 24/7. Once the individual completes the questionnaire (which takes about 60 minutes to finish), the company can pull the report. The report is designed to be given to the manager to read and is very easy to use and interpret.

How can a company request a free demo or purchase PSMDR?

For a free demo or to purchase our manager's development reports contact us directly at 1-800-875-0222 or email sales@qfsconsulting.com. Note: the tests cannot be purchased directly via our website because company-based web accounts need to be established to pull down the reports.

FAQs

What sales management problems does the development report help address?

The development report is especially valuable for individuals who may be experiencing difficulties in their positions or are new to managing.

When should I administer the development report?

The PSMDR can be used at any point in time during the manager's career. However, it can be especially helpful for new managers; established sales managers experiencing difficulty in their positions; and for solid performers who want to improve their sales management skills.
